As a kid, I grew up in Southern California in an area full of open fields and orange groves. I have many fond memories of sitting under a tree feeling the wind all around me. I have always loved wide open land. Sadly, as I grew older I watched the fields turn into streets and the orange groves become subdivisions. 

As an adult, I still traveled to remote spots to unwind but it never occurred to me that I could actually own my own land. One day I discovered a piece of land that someone didn’t want and they didn’t know how to get rid of it. The problem was they had no idea how to go about selling it. Real estate agents and banks weren’t interested in helping because the profit margins were too low. As you can imagine I was very happy to have buy it. After a little exploration, I found there were lots of people who had inherited or held onto land they didn’t want and Bugout Land was born.

My family wants to bring the ability to own land to everyone. We want everyone to have a place where they can get away from the daily stress of the rat race and just relax in rural America. We buy land at discounted prices and make it available to everyone.
